Old Nelson Food Company: Your Go-To Deli for Fresh Eats and Great Service

While a bit more pricey than your average convenience store, they have everything you need to grab and go and it’s nice to have one on campus. Also the store is always super clean and organized. I love their fresh cut fruit and they have dorm stuff too (dish soap, trash bags, frozen food etc) Support this local chain!

The Old Nelson on Montgomery ave is top notch! Sandwiches are made to order , taste fresh and are really good! Definitely a go-to spot every time I’m on Temple Campus

Staff is so kind and the deli is so good I always enjoy my sandwiches and coffee from there. They also have a great selection of Beer and Wine as long as some small drinks and asian snacks, they have it all. Hands down my fave spot to grab something on Temple Campus.

I really enjoy the hoagies from old Nelson they are always so neat and organized and delicious. Sprouts and avocado IMO makes it extra tasty! These spots don’t get enough credit. It isn’t traditional Philly whatsoever but so good. They should make a “Philly special” and just get bigger rolls double the meat and 1.5x the cheese and do everything else the same. Xo

This place is so iconic for Temple students. They have a super awesome selection of drinks and their sit down food looks really good. They have takes throughout the place and it’s a pretty big location.

This place is great, they will make the Ramen you buy there so it's a great place to go for a cheap hot meal. The food they prepare is pretty good and decently cheap as well. It's a little pricey but they have a great selection of whatever you need and it's definitely cheaper than 711 for the same stuff and more expansive, even beyond all the awesome quirky Asian products they have. Beer can be cheap but I feel they pull a weird supply and demand move on certain beverages. For example these Gen Z kids love seltzer and they know it, so they literally charge more for the seltzer than the Voodoo Ranger, where as at *Whole Foods, a much more objectively priced location, it was almost a dollar cheaper for the seltzer than the ranger, which means they are arbitrarily hiking up prices on items they know "the kids" want regardless of price, and so they are making a solid $1-2 more in profit compared to the beer that literally costs them more money, just because it sells better, which is an incredibly weasely move on their part. *[At Whole foods the Voodo Ranger was $2.99 and the 8 percent seltzer was $1.99, but here they charge $3.50 for the Voodoo and $3.99 for the same seltzer.]

I was shocked they sell beer at this location very convenient. Nice & clean due to Covid 19 they only let in a few people at a time.

Great customer service. Right now they close at 8, not 9. Last time I was there 5 mins before close and they allowed me to make my purchase even though drawer was counted. This time I called to make sure they close at 8 and at 7:50 they were closing up and still allowed me to come in and make my purchase. A bit overpriced but this is expected on college campus.
